Curate

For several weeks throughout December the word “Curate” has been whispering to me. And by whispering, I mean persistently informing me with insistency that this year is the year I will select, gather and organize the projects, programs and people that will be core parts of my life throughout 2023 and the years to follow.

Each year I’ve opted-in to a word-of-the-year, it has been a double edged sword of sorts, resulting in massive shifts internally and externally. Given my plans for the coming year, it stands to reason, this word will have equal and additional impact to prior years.

I am excited about what is coming. Excited because it is the fruition of decades of work all leading to what is both a harvesting and a seeding I had long hoped for and across several genres and platforms.

On the landscape of TV for Your Soul, my Empowering Women television platform is blossoming! This year I am partnering in dream-come-true ways that will enable many hosts and facilitators to learn how to use the Empowering Women model to enhance their own work, while building community and engage in networking that yields financial wealth for them and the projects and organizations they support. The expansion of this project will also widely benefit the Melusine’s Haven non-profit organization that is near and dear to my heart. This year I am also curating with Matrika Press the third Women of Spirit anthology which will be published in 2024. I will be hosting (and attending) a limited number of retreats and workshops, as well as weekly ministry for The Church of Kineo and answering occasional calls for pulpit supply and wedding officiating.

On personal levels, I will be spending alot of time curating my desired Sabbatical Living lifestyle: creating art + writing poetry, sermons and fiction to be published into books + practicing forest bathing, yoga, dancing, walking meditations, hiking, kayaking, boating, swimming and more + gardening and tending to our new retreat home + going on vacations with my husband, family and friends.

  • CURATE:
  • Verb: to select, organize and maintain a collection of resources; to select (the best or most appropriate) especially for presentation, distribution, or publication; to select and organize (artistic works) for presentation in (something, such as an exhibit, show, or program); to select and bring together (people or groups) for a purpose that is dependent on the specific skills or talents of the members.
  • Interestingly as a Noun, “curate” is used to refer to: a member of the clergy.
  • ARCHAIC: a minister with pastoral responsibility.

Perfect!

Welcome 2023
