Once upon a time…

Melusine’s Haven, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, is delighted to announce its fiscal sponsorship of an inspiring project: the reemergence of Twinkle’s Place Retreat Center & Artist Residency.

Once upon a time “Twinkle” Marie Manning had a beautiful retreat center in Maine (pictured above). It was a large Victorian home, across from a 45 acre park beside a peaceful river. She hosted all manner of events from wellness workshops, retreats and seminars, to meditations and contemplative services; yoga, dance, and art classes; writing retreats, television Salon-style Gatherings and Fireside Chats and even house concerts, to list a few of the kinds of gatherings she hosted.

Due to a series of tragedies, including the tragic death of one of her children, the onset of Covid which made hosting in-person events impossible for an extended period, and an absolutely horrific domestic-violence situation that displaced her temporarily, she had to pause her retreat work.

Yet, amid these tragedies, Twinkle’s desire to be of service to her community in the manner in which she excels, namely: offering a safe and sacred space for people to intentionally gather together to be inspired and uplifted, continued to burn brightly in her heart.

Melusine’s Haven is eager to help establish a new retreat center where Twinkle and her colleagues can offer a variety of programs that serve to meet people where they are at on their journeys to healing and wellness, along with offering opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation in the indoor and outdoor spaces on site. Artists will be able to immerse and explore their creative expressions. And, the community will be invited to regularly take part in events.

Mostly, this retreat center will offer a much needed place of solace and compassion in Maine. Please help us create this essential and beautiful space with your generosity.
