Addressing COVID-19 Concerns in our congregations

Update May 14th, 2020: UUA President Susan Fredrick Gray: “Based on advice from experts, we continue to recommend that congregations not gather in person. We also recommend that congregations begin planning for virtual operations for the next year (through May 2021). ” https://www.uua.org/pressroom/press-releases/message-uua-president-updated-guidance-gathering

Ice Castle Adventure

Grateful for time with family this weekend on an Ice Castle adventure in New Hampshire!

We are so blessed to have a wonderful friendship with our son-in-law’s parents. My heart fills with joy knowing that many of our grandchildren’s memories will contain adventures like this with them being surrounded by two sets of loving grandparents. Looking forward to this summer when our Canadian children and grandchildren will join us in Maine for such full-family fun adventures.

Every moment counts. ❤️ 🎶

So…what is Unitarian Universalism?

I serve a number of Unitarian Universalist congregations as guest minister, retreat leader and consultant. As it is a small religion many people in my interfaith community do not always know of it, and if they do only nominally so. The congregation of Idaho Falls was the focus of a podcast a few months ago. The interviewer did a good job of “covering” what Unitarian Universalism is, what its historical roots and local congregation’s origins are, as well as offers an observer’s glimpse of what many Sunday services look like in a UU congregation. I especially appreciate the one-on-one interviews he conducted with multigenerational congregation members. In doing so he gives listeners a good framing for what this faith path is in the hearts and minds of members.

“We need magic to help us stay grounded, sane, and able to sleep as the tension mounts—and a little support from our friends would be nice, too! We need magic to counter the manipulative magic that floods the internet and the airwaves every day with toxic energies, to help us discern truth and provide an antidote to the poisons. We need magic not as a substitute for action, but to further our own resilience as we dream the world we want and channel our energies effectively to make it real.”

“River Dai” welcome to Planet Earth <3

Our family was blessed this week to welcome “River Dai Longden.” I was especially blessed to be present with my daughter Morgan and her husband Rob when this beautiful baby girl was born and have spent every moment possible with my sweet granddaughter since then. She is absolutely adored by her uncles Dylan and Orion and has been given the same middle name as her uncle Riley Dai who is ever present in our hearts. 🌸 💖
