What a blessing it is to have these beautiful women in my life! What do we do when the Calendar says Spring but the weather still indicates “not yet”? Ladies Craft Night Adventures!
What a blessing it is to have these beautiful women in my life! What do we do when the Calendar says Spring but the weather still indicates “not yet”? Ladies Craft Night Adventures!
This sweet, compassionate, musical, creative, hilarious, (sometimes frustrating), smart, loving, handsome, nature-loving boy is 12 Years Old Today!
It is with sadness we share that Rev. Dr. Dorothy May Emerson passed away yesterday. Dorothy is one of my colleagues and one of the authors I published through Matrika Press. Her impact on the Unitarian Universalist faith tradition, and on the UU Women’s Movement is enormous, as are her contributions to bringing awareness and solutions to Class discrimination.
We have explored Sue Monk Kidd‘s groundbreaking memoir: The Dance of the Dissident Daughter, describing Kidd’s journey into feminist theology. As well as the soulful tale of The Mermaid Chair. This Autumn we delve into two more of Sue’s inspirational manuscripts:
Firstlight: The Early Inspiration Writings, the spiritual essays, meditations, and inspirational stories Sue wrote in her thirties – all collected into a single volume.
When the Heart Waits, an autobiographical account of Sue’s personal pain, spiritual awakening, and divine grace that has become a touchstone on contemplative spirituality teaching the discipline of “active waiting.”
We are excited to share some of these for our summer adventures:
Tara explores the beautiful notion of death as advisor, drawing from don Juan’s teachings by Carlos Castaneda: “How can anyone feel so important when we know that death is stalking us?” and Rumi in his ponderings of: “What can I do to save myself?…I will make the infinite my home.”
